The Labrador: a dog which saves
The farmer has become avalanche dog, dog search for missing persons or dogs to find people buried under the rubble.
Due to its highly developed sense of smell, dogs are a valuable tool for rescue teams. Resistance to cold, and a great physical performance gave the Labrador its place in this small world of saving human lives.
The avalanche search is one of the few life saving disciplines, along with the rubble, where dogs are requested immediately. Its nose,quickness and tenacity put the Labrador in the foreground. The teams work together but, at the site of the avalanche, the work of the dog is a priority.
The use of dogs has a huge advantage: its speed of execution and the time value is essential to the mountain recues.
